A Cadillac in Europe is a rare sight. One that hasn’t been converted to LPG is even more rare. And with 52.000 original kms, this thing is a true gem.
Powered by a GM 2.8L V6 with variable valve timing, producing a bit over 200hp and mated to a relaxed GM automatic transmission, it’s a smooth cruiser. The last time it was serviced was just 2000km ago, and the gearbox has been serviced in preparation for the sale.
The exterior design is imposing and looks nothing like any European sedans from 2006, it truly gets some confused looks. I personally love it, but that might be influenced by the fact that this generation was in Need for Speed Most Wanted’s car list.
The interior is American opulence at its best. Well equipped with electric seats with memory, electric folding mirrors, automatic dual zone climate control, cruise control, board computer and a lot more. Leather everywhere, fake wood, lots of plastic and doubtful quality control if you compare it to its European counterparts. In true American fashion.
Some exterior panels have been repainted and the wheels are scratched, testimony to an elderly first owner who drove the car no more than 1000km/year in the almost 15 years he had it. In 2018 it moved on to a gentleman from Sevilla who used it a bit more, and put up to 49.000km on it, when we got a hold of it.
The car is Euro IV compliant, so it gets a green emissions sticker for Spain and most European countries. Spare parts are easy to find nowadays and I will happily give you leads for them, it also shares a lot of them with contemporary GM products like Opel or Saab.
Great option for somebody looking for an affordable but stately looking and feeling car in good condition. Or just someone who enjoys something different for a change.
