Best known as the car to end all cars, this 1981 Mercedes-Benz 300D comes with a story like no other. Far from perfect but characterful and full of life.
Sold new in Andorra in 1981, the car had its first service in Almeria just a few days later (original bill included). It drove on Andorran plates until 2003, when the first owner registered it in Spain, to his domicile in Albox, near Almeria.
Until 2015 the car drove regularly, when the first and only owner until then, passed away. The car sat in a shed in Andorra until 2024, when I first bought it. I sold it a few months later to a Palestinian gentleman who lived in Bilbao, who resold it to me in April of 2026 because he had to return to his home country for personal reasons.
The total mileage of the car is unknown. In 2015, it had 186.000km on the odometer, and it hasn't moved since. It has not been used very intensely since I bought it in 2024, but it is safe to assume that the real mileage is close to 200.000.
The front doors, especially the right one, and the front left fender, have rust issues. The car is solid underneath and presents no visible structural rust. The body has damage all around but mostly retains its original paint.
The interior is in great condition for the life the car has had. No tears on the seats, no excessive wear anywhere. It is equipped with period, but aftermarket, A/C, power windows and cassette radio.
The engine starts on the first try every single time. The car drives smoothly but is in need of some general maintenance, which can be done before delivery upon agreement. Currently it has some oil leaks and emits blue smoke on retention.
The car passed inspection in April of 2025 with no major defects, and it expired in April of 2026. ITV can be arranged upon agreement.
Included with the car are two keys, all Spanish documentation, the original datacard and various period service records.
